Once a year the entire forest service work force for the Beaverhead- Deerlodge region gets together and has a field day. Yesterday we went to Butte a nearby town and did some restoration work on Thompson Park there.
We carried out several tasks. Firstly, we cleared some weeds from the trail.
Clambering up steep hills to get the weeds one by one in our attempt to save the planet!
Then we worked on removing old barbed wire fences. Here I got to use my newly learnt D.I.Y skills.
Others worked on removing dead trees so they would not fall on the paths when people went hiking or biking in the area.
We had a hearty forest service lunch consisting; hot dogs, beef burgers, pasta salad and lots of cookies. It was a fun day and great to be outdoors in another beautiful spot.
