City girl maintains dirt roads

Every day in the field provides a new challenge, which adds to the element of adventure. On Wednesday we came across an obstacle on our road - a newly fallen dead tree. This tree had crashed down a couple of hours prior to us reaching it. We were determined not to let one tree interfere... Continue Reading →

Dillon Rodeo

The rodeo opened with a patriotic speech given by the host and some sort of religious prayer to the Father, thanking him for everything. Everyone took their cowboy hats off and bowed their heads earnestly. Of course, the English and Indian girl didn't know about this tradition, so stood there oblivious, with our hats on,... Cowboy carnival

As carnivals go, the country folk one here in Dillon was quite an experience. The scenic backdrop of sunlit mountains capped with snow, contrasted with the lively atmosphere surrounding the festivities. There were food stalls just about everywhere, serving any greasy condiment you can imagine, from hot dogs to turkey legs. There were no snack... Continue Reading →

Tgif (thank goodness it’s Friday)

Call me crazy but yesterday morning I woke up at 6am for a morning run with Jessie (the mother of the family I am staying with). It was a really good run. Although the altitude is not what I'm used to (9,000 ft above sea level) I still managed to get 45 minuets in. I... Continue Reading →

Wild Camping

Sunday funday

This morning I went for a scenic, solo bike ride. It was beautiful. I cycled along dirt roads with the mountains surrounding me. They looked like a painting. The sun shone on them highlighting the dark green trees and lighter green sage brush. The sky was a clear blue and I could see birds swooping... Continue Reading →

Norris hot springs review

Montana is known for its natural hot springs. This is because Montana is situated on a fault line, which circulates heat to specific rivers and snow melt pools. Everyone here has said while in Montana you must go to the hot springs but where on earth do you start - there are so many? So... Continue Reading →

Lewis and Clark cavern

The Lewis and Clark expedition was the first American adventure to explore the western part of the USA in 1804. Their exploration is an American legacy which is celebrated by many American citizens. The expedition is thought of so highly that in 1911 president Taft named these magnificent caves in Jefferson after Lewis and Clark... Continue Reading →

City girl meets alpaca

https://youtu.be/c1M-OSnYAuw It's not every day that your neighbour's alpaca attacks you. The people next door have an animal sanctuary. They feel obliged to save any animal that is about to be slaughtered so they have an eclectic collection. I shall visit them soon and let you know what other treasures they have hidden.
